The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manages the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area and sets the riding rules that apply to all ATV operators at Glamis. All riders must wear helmets at all times while operating an ATV on the sand. Night riding is not permitted on any rental vehicle. A whip flag must be mounted and visible on the ATV at all times, which we install on every machine before your rental.
Riders must stay within the designated open riding areas of the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area. Certain zones near the Algodones Dunes Wilderness are closed to motorized vehicles year-round. Our team goes over open riding zones and closed areas at pickup and can send GPS coordinates for popular spots on request, so you can ride with confidence and stay within the rules.
How to Rent an ATV in Glamis
Renting an ATV at Glamis takes just a few steps. Select your dates on our booking page and confirm your reservation with a 25% deposit. The renter and the rider must be 21 or older, and the rider needs a valid driver’s license. At pickup, present your ID (driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport, or international driving permit) and a physical credit card in your name that matches it. When you arrive, the remaining balance is due and a $500 security hold (a hold, not a charge; no cash or debit) is placed on that credit card.

Weather
Glamis is a desert. We are closed in summer (rentals run October 16 to April 14), but warm days in the season can still affect generator and AC performance in RVs. Running a rooftop AC too hard can cause it to freeze up, so we share hot-weather tips at pickup and help you plan ride times around the heat. We do not cancel for normal desert conditions, so plan your water and gear accordingly.

Damage waiver
A damage waiver is available for our 250 ATVs at $39 per day. It covers physical damage with a $750 deductible. It never covers mechanical damage (belts, axles, clutches, engine, transmission) or liability.
